Visiting the Archives
The archives welcome everyone, whether you are a professional researcher, investigating legal rights or tracing your ancestors.
Most of the documents kept in the archives are available to everyone, although some of the material is subject to clauses due to matters of privacy. If you wish to use such documents, you must make a special application in each case.
Documents kept in our archives might be difficult to work with. Please do not hesitate to ask for help. We will guide you to the material you need, and help you read the difficult passages. However, you must be prepared to do most of the investigation yourself.
You can write to us and ask for information from the archives. We reply to all letters received. Many of the searches are time consuming and our resources are limited, so kindly state specific questions and your reasons for wanting this information. This enables us to concentrate on the most important issues related to each case. We make thorough investigations in the archives in cases of legal rights. In cases related to leisure activities we must concentrate on questions which can easily be answered.
