From April 1, 2014 the old version of the Digital Archives is available from a link on the home site of the Digital Archives. It will remain available until end of 2014.
At the end of 2013, we announced the closing of the old Digital Archives April 1. However, the old version will still be available.
Although almost all of the data has been transferred to the new version of the Digital Archives (http://arkivverket.no/eng/Digitalarkivet ), and there are new and improved features on the new site, the Director General of the National Archives has decided to keep the old site available until end of this year. This is done to ensure that some of the features in the old version will be available until similar functionality is ensured on the new version. The elements that are not yet available on the new site is among others tools for analyzing the data, frequency lists of the data and coded versions of the 1801 Census.
Please notice that the old version will not have any new data available and the data that is already there will not be updated in any way. The new site of the Digital Archives is continusouly updated with new and/or improved data. We highly recommend that you take the time to get used to the new search site for transcribed data. There are guides available on the Help page . Please contact the staff of the Digital Archives for further assistance.
