The National Archives have launched a new blog!
The archives are invaluable sources of knowledge of the past, and are full of stories that can inspire, entertain, shock, touch and enlighten us. Underneath the National Archives building in Oslo we keep many kilometers of archives that document people's lives all the way back to the 9th century.
The blog will present documents and photos related to a different theme every month. The theme for March is women who have made a difference in the last 100 years, as Norway celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the female vote in 2013. The first document is Ingrid Bjerkås' letter to Vidkun Quisling in 1941. Ingrid Bjerkås is mostly known for being Norway's first female priest, ordinated in 1961.
