ISO 15489

ISO 15489-1 og 2: 2001 Information and documentation - Records management (Part 1: General, Part 2: Guidelines). This is an international standard for records management.

The ISO 15489: 2001 standard defines records management as "The field of management responsible for the efficient and systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use and disposition of records, including the processes for capturing and maintaining evidence of and information about business activities and transactions in the form of records".

It defines records as"information created, received, and maintained as evidence and information by an organization or person, in pursuance of legal obligations or in the transaction of business".


MoReq - Model Requirements for the management of electronic records (the EU-commision 2002). This is an EU-standard for records management based on ISO 15489. I february 2008 came MoReq2. In 2011 Moreq2010 will be published.


Open Archival Information System (OAIS) is a reference model for an archive, published in 2002. It is written by The Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) - an international forum of spaceagencies. OAIS describes the functions and dependencies an archive has, regardless of type of material -moonrocks or xml-files. The standard presented a new terminology and has been accepted world-wide.
